A Day Out With Arafura

Once again i'm very impressed with Arafura fishing charters very professional and a well run company. The morning started with a 5:45am departure from Cullen bay then a 2 hour comfortable ride out to our first spot where we trolled for Mackerel. Once we got our first hook up it was mackerel madness with reels screaming and and double hook ups not uncommon. Unfortunately my first fish was sharked so i had to wait for my first Snanyard.  Which i finally got. The skipper had been spinning a dead Souri between trolls when he's reel started screaming. I was handed the rod with the reel screaming my adrenalin was pumping. After a good fight the fish was at the side of the boat where the decky gaffed it. After a quick happy snap the fish was filleted and prepped for me to take home. After my fish the mackerel went off the bite so we stopped  trolling and hit a near by reef for some bottom fishing where we mostly targeted Golden snapper and had high hopes of that big black Jewfish unfortunately that Jewie was never seen. But it was a good day and everyone got into a few fish and went home with a feed. So if your ever in Darwin make sure you book a charter with Arafura fishing charters  whether it's a half day, full day, or extended Arafura does it all.
