outside the heads 28/12

Well yesterday myself, dad and the neighbour planned to head outside the heads to do a bit of reef fishing it started with a quarter to 4 wake up then a 1 hour drive to Brooklyn launched the boat. On the way out it was an enjoyable bumpy ride out. Managed to land a few fish before i started to burleigh up the breakfast. so we decided to go back inside due to everyone spilling there guts on the burleigh trail so we went in to target some squid. It wasn't to long after before i got my first hit unfortunately i treated it like a fish and struck at it and ripped 1 of its legs off. A few minutes later Steve the neighbour got hit and landed a massive 3kg squid and that was going to be the entree. but not long after it went quiet so we went to the pub for something to eat and drink. then we went off for a cruise then a swim and headed back to the boat ramp to find a council worker pressure cleaning half the ramp i wish they had planned it better than having it done during one of the busiest times of the the year all well awesome day out on the water Evan though i got sea sick i don't care it was awesome to be out on the water.

Middle Harbour 9/12

Last Sunday i fished Middle Harbour with WSBB fishing club the morning started with a clear sky no wind crystal clear water but that didn't last long when the wind picked up at nine we were in the middle of the harbour and we got absolutely soaked with water smashing over the sides and in the 3m tinny we couldn't stay in the harbour so we went in to some sheltered water and i only found one legal bream lost something big felt like a Jewie by the way it hit got smoked and busted off it was a very frustrating day watching bream swim along the rockwalls and would not touch anything i would throw at them. I finished up 8Th out of 31 people not many fish were caught but any days a good day for fishing Evan though the catching wasn't that hot.
Lures: 2inch gulp shrimp
small feral cat blade (not sure on exact size)
           3inch gulp minnow
           strike pro cyber vibe
           100mm squidgy wriggler
            cranka hardbody
(p.s i caught fish on all the lures i have listed just not all legal)

Asakura Bream Tri series

Today i fished the Bream Tri Series round 1 with WSBB. First up we flicked at a few docked boats managed to pull in a few small Bream all on the 2inch shrimp 1/30 jig head and i know that allot of people will say that's way to light but i find that the 2inch shrimps work best on the lightest jig head possible and the bream really love the slow suspending action and can be a tournament winning technique and also be sure to use a light leader 2ld/6ld fluorocarbon the fluorocarbon really makes a difference because it tends to sink and reduces the drag on the bait and gives the lure a more natural action where mono floats and adds drag whilst giving the lure an unrealistic look. after the bite died down a bit we decided to do a bit of deep water blading so we started fishing 11/14 metres of water i had a trusty cyber vibe tied on and it wasn't too long before i landed our first keeper a good size Bream but unfortunately it was our only keeper. it was a hard day Breamin with a lot of by-catch with big Flathead coming on board small Tailor and a big Pike but all round a awesome day to be out on the water

Bass

went out in the Yak today decided to put in at north richmond landed 9 fish most over 300mm a few rats bets blade with a Yum 3inch walleye grub did the damage and the 100mm squidgy wriggler i used the bets in tight structer and towards the middle of the day i used the wriggler in between weed beds while trying to sight out fish but it seems that the hawkesbury is fishing quite well at the moment unfortunatly the obnoxisouse weed seems to be spreding out through the river again so get out there while the fishing's hot

Hit the Hawkesbury river this afternoon landed a few Bass all on a purple and blue spinnerbait with a purple 3 inch grub trailer 10lb leader

Colo river Bass

this afternoon Dad decided to take me up the Colo for a fish and i was more than happy to take the offer so when we got to the spot i decided to tie on a betts blade with a slider soft plastic and it wasn't long before i got hit and landed a half decant Bass would've been close to 30/33cm unfortunately i dropped it before i could get a pic Sad didn't get hit on the betts after that first fish so tied on a small crankbait (asakura hornet) and landed two more Bass not worth a pic but a good 40 min sesh Smiley Smiley
